Joint research by David Timothy Duval and Niven Winchester, culminating in an academic journal paper submitted for review in November 2009 (abstract can be viewed at SSRN).
MEASURING THE VALUE OF INTERNATIONAL AIR SERVICES TO DUNEDIN: A CGE APPROACH
Joint research by Niven Winchester and David Timothy Duval that will utilise computable general equilibrium modelling (CGE) to measure the economic effects of international air services to Dunedin. This project is receiving logistical support from Dunedin International Airport Limited. As of August 2009, this project is in somewhat of a holding pattern (pun intended) in order to allow time for the appropriate data to be made available. CGE modelling is sensitive to the number of data points in the dependent variable (to put it simply), and thus we estimate that by the end of of 2011 we should be able to proceed confidently.
THE POLITICAL ECONOMY OF TRADE IN INTERNATIONAL AIR TRANSPORT SERVICES
Book chapter currently being written by David Timothy Duval and John Macilree (Principal Adviser, Air Services, Aviation Team, New Zealand Ministry of Transport) for publication in an edited book on tourism and political economy.
EDITED BOOK PROJECT: AIR TRANSPORT IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC

We are actively seeking contributors for this project. Those interested should email both David and Alan to discuss details. A formal call for expressions of interest can be downloaded here (right-click and 'save as' - pdf file).

Led by Anna Garcia (Honours Student working courtesy a NZ Government Summer Scholarship) in conjunction with David Timothy Duval and John Macilree. The project shall be examining the importance of 5th and 6th freedom traffic to New Zealand using a series of models.
